Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is the UK’s fourth largest acute teaching trust. It was established on 1 April 2006 following the merger of Nottingham City Hospital and the Queen’s Medical Centre. We’re based in the heart of Nottingham and provide services to over 2.5 million residents of Nottingham and its surrounding communities. We also provide specialist services for a further 3-4 million people from across the region.

Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust serves the Nottinghamshire area with the pathology department receiving approximately 70,000 histological specimens per year (average 300.000 tumour blocks) including 7000 breast pathology cases with 850 cases diagnosed as breast cancer per year.
