Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust was established on 1 October 2014 following the acquisition by Frimley Park Hospital of Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals. We provide services to over 900,000 people across the Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey and the South Buckinghamshire area. As well as delivering excellent general hospital services to local people, we provide specialist heart attack, vascular, stroke, spinal, cystic fibrosis and plastic surgery services across a much wider area.
We are also proud to host the Defence Medical Group South East at Frimley Park with military surgical, medical and nursing personnel working alongside the hospital’s NHS staff providing care to patients in all specialties.
Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust along with partners Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation trust, Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust and Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, formed the Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services network, a contractual joint venture with single governance, operational and management structure.
Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust provides some hosting services for BSPS on behalf of the partners through a legally binding collaboration agreement. BSPS serves the area with the pathology department receiving approximately 132,000 histological specimens per year (average 22,000 tumour blocks).
